INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — If you ever wanted to meet a 25-foot tall, 60-foot long, T-Rex, you could get your chance at this year’s Indiana State Fair.

At the new “Dino Stroll Experience” families can get a look at the life-sized dinosaur with a moving head, neck, tail with a mouth that opens and closes. This, along with another roaming dinosaur affectionately named “Patchy” roaming and interacting with the crowd, is just a taste of what’s to come in late September at the fairgrounds.

The actual Dino Stroll event will return to the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center to give people the full experience featuring 75 dinosaurs in the exhibit that will range from life-sized to babies, a dinosaur egg where guests can climb inside and use as a photo backdrop and more.

“Honestly, it’s amazing watching these kids have fun and watching the parents’ faces light up it just brings pure joy to your heart,” Dino Stroll tour member, Nick Clucky said.

The brand new “Hoosier Spirit Park” at the fair is welcoming fans to new experiences like these, which include the “Hoosier Cruiser Super Wheel” Indiana’s largest Ferris wheel, a “Brats and Brews” backyard area.

Indiana State Fair Commission Director of Communications, Sharon Smith, talked about why they wanted to add this to the fair in 2021.

“We just wanted to create a place where people could relax, enjoy their food, drink and the kids can have fun being really active,” Smith said. “It’s family fun for everyone.”

The Dino Stroll preview is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 18-22, 2021 near the Farm Bureau parking lot. Then they return for the full event on Sept. 25 and 26. Click HERE for more details.
