IU Health offers free virtual coronavirus screenings

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — IU Health announced Saturday it’s now offering free virtual screenings for the coronavirus.

The screenings are through the IU Health Virtual Care app.

If you think you might have the coronavirus, health officials say don’t rush to the emergency room and to call a hospital or use this service before anything.

“We really felt like this was a way for us to help the community and maybe route people to the right place and give them the right information as well,” Dr. Michele Saysana with IU Health.

To access the virtual clinic:

  • Download the free IU Health Virtual Visits app (Google Play or iTunes) or enroll on your computer.
  • Enroll by creating a free login and completing your personal profile.
  • Connect with the virtual hub, select “Coronavirus Screen” and find the appropriate pathway for care.

IU Health said there will be nurses and physicians on hand 24/7 to help you through the app.
