INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Attention all 90s music enthusiasts, this is not a drill.

The renowned artist, Ms. Lauryn Hill, announces plans for a global tour in honor of the 25th anniversary of her album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.”

As part of the tour, the Fugees and Grammy-winning reggae artist Koffee will be joining Hill for a few stops.

The record was first released Aug. 25, 1998. It’s now considered one of the most influential albums of its time.

The “Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” seamlessly blends together hip-hop, R&B, and pop, resulting in a beautifully crafted musical masterpiece. It won the first hip-hop Album of the Year Grammy Award.

This critically acclaimed album led to Hill becoming the first woman to be nominated for 10 Grammy awards in one year and the first woman to win five Grammy awards in a single night, according to Billboard.

Hill’s debut solo album hit the top of the Billboard 200, making her the first solo female rapper to reach No. 1 in the ranking. It held the top spot for four weeks in 1998.

Three singles from the album also hit the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100: “Doo Wop (That Thing),” “Ex-Factor”, and “Everything is Everything.”

The album was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2021.

The tour kicks off on Friday, Sept. 8th at Mystic Lake in Minneapolis.
