Police: Drunk woman with baby in car flees from officers, crashes into home

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police say a drunk woman fled from officers, then crashed into a home while a baby was in her car.

According to officers, an Indiana State Police trooper woke up a sleeping woman near Washington and Rural streets on Thursday morning. When asked about her and the infant’s welfare, police said she took off in her car.

After about a mile-long chase, she crashed the car into a home on New York Street near Chester Avenue.

Police said no one was injured. The suspect has been arrested and is facing multiple charges.

The suspect’s name has not been released by police.
