Rain tries to hang around today, but sunshine will win out Friday and Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Good Thursday morning, everyone! While we had hoped to get rid of the rain for a few days, unfortunately… Mother Nature had other plans.
Scattered rain is likely Thursday, especially for areas along and south of the I-70 corridor as a weak disturbance slides through. Grab the rain gear before you head out the door!
We’ll begin to see showers as early as 5-6 a.m. with better rain chances closer to mid-day.
Even with the clouds and rain, high temperatures will still manage to sneak into the low 70s in many areas, just a bit under average for this time of year.
The wet weather will slide out by 6-7 p.m. and skies will clear Thursday evening and through the overnight.
With clearing skies, expect another chilly start to Friday morning with overnight lows in the mid to upper 40s.
Friday looks much better with plenty of blue sky. With more sunshine and a west wind, temperatures will climb into the mid 70s through the last day of the school week.
If you’re looking forward to the weekend, we’ve got a pretty good one on the way. The first half of the weekend will stay rain free and comfy with high temps in the low 70s, perfect for homecoming at the University of Indianapolis!
Temperatures will climb a bit through the second half of the weekend as winds begin to shift. With that will also come an isolated rain chance but the vast majority of us will remain dry.
With that said, it’ll be about a 70/30 chance that the roof will be open as the Colts host the Texans this Sunday! Keep your fingers crossed for an open roof and a Blue Win!
Better rain chances look to return through the middle of next week after temps briefly return to the 80s to start next work week.
Rain chances will drop high temps briefly into the mid 70s next Tuesday before we rebound through mid week. Enjoy our below average temps while they last!
