Tippecanoe Co. man jailed under child molesting allegations

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A Tippecanoe County man is in jail under allegations of child molesting.

51-year-old James Tran was arrested Wednesday at his home on Pocahontas Drive in Lafayette, after an investigation by the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Child Services.

The sheriff’s office said Tran faces three counts of child molesting on a victim less then 14 years old.

The initial complaint was made to CPS, who then contacted the sheriff’s office. The investigation into Tran began June 5, according to a news release.

Tran was booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail. As of Thursday morning, no bond was set. He is due to make his initial court appearance Thursday afternoon.
