Police chase in Clay Co. leads to 3 arrests

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – Some wanted fugitives were behind bars Tuesday morning after a late night chase in Clay County.

It started just after 10 p.m. Monday. That’s when Clay County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop a pickup truck for various traffic violations.

The driver refused to stop, leading police on a chase for several miles along icy roads in rural Clay County. The driver eventually stopped near the Clay/Putnam county line.

The driver of the vehicle, 44-year-old Woodrow Hill of Brazil, was arrested. He faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and helping Tracey Burke avoid apprehension. Burke was wanted for his alleged involvement in a kidnapping, criminal confinement and battery case in Clay County.

Another passenger arrested was 26-year-old Sarah Sparks of Brazil. She was wanted on warrants as well.
