Lafayette police: Man hit with gun before he was robbed
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A man was attacked and robbed early Thursday morning at the Spring Gardens Apartments on Lafayette’s south side.
The apartments are located on State Road 25 West between Old Romney Road and South Beck Lane.
Police said just before 1 a.m., a call came into dispatch saying a man had collapsed after being hit in the head with a handgun. He described his attackers as two men who fled on foot out of view. One was described as 6 feet 3 inches tall wearing all black clothing, and the other was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing red tennis shoes.
According to officers, the victim’s wallet, cellphone and medication were taken during the robbery.
The man was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Police have made no arrests.
