City council committee votes to rename street to ‘Amos Brown Way’

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis is honoring the late Amos Brown. The radio pioneer and civil rights activist died last last year.

A city council committee voted unanimously to rename the 100 block of Saint Joseph’s Street as “Amos Brown Way.”

That is the section of the street that housed his radio studio.

The full council is expected to vote on the measure May 9.
