Small plane crashes near airport outside Kokomo
KOKOMO, Ind. (WISH) — A small plane crashed near a rural airport Thursday afternoon, minorly injuring the pilot, according to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office.
The Howard County 911 Dispatch Center received a report of an airplane crash shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday west of the Glenndale Airport, 3460 S. County Road 400 West. That’s about 2 miles southwest of Kokomo.
The plane flipped onto its top upon landing in a field. The pilot exited the plane on his own. A news release from Capt. Jordan J. Buckely, patrol commander for the sheriff’s office, did not say what type of plane crashed or who was piloting it.
