Name released of woman found dead on bar roof

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police have ruled out foul play in the death of a woman whose body was found on the roof of a historic bar and restaurant in downtown Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the Slippery Noodle Inn, 372 S. Meridian St., around 6 p.m. Thursday for a death investigation.

“We received a phone call late today that someone on a passing train noticed what looked like a person sleeping on our roof. That section of our roof is not easily accessible,” the Slippery Noodle said on social media. “When we were able to determine there was a person on the roof, we called authorities.”

Police gained access to the roof and determined the individual was deceased.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 39-year-old Laura Jones. A cause of death was not provided.

The Slippery Noodle closed its post on social media by offering condolences to the family of the deceased.

“The entire Slippery Noodle family extends our condolences to the person’s family.”
