1 dead, 3 injured, suspect included, in shooting at Daviess County home
WASHINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — A 58-year-old died, and three other people were injured Sunday night in a shooting at a Daviess County residence, police say.
Aracely Torress died in the shooting, the Washington Police Department said in a social media post on Monday.
Washington Police Department officers responded just after 10:50 p.m. Sunday to a report of a disturbance involving a firearm at a residence in the 1800 block of McCormick Ave. That’s on the west side of the Daviess County city of about 12,200 people.
“The call was in regard to a disturbance involving a firearm that ultimately resulted in 3 individuals in the home being shot,” the social media post said.
Police on Monday identified the two people shot inside the home before being taken to a hospital for treatment: Concepcion Rodriguez Martinez, 57, and Yarely Santiago Torres, 35. The shooting suspect, Abel Dubon Castillo, 38, was also injured and remained hospitalized Monday.
The injuries were not inflicted by law enforcement, the Washington police say.
Police on Monday evening had not yet completed their investigation. No criminal charges have been announced.
The city of Washington is about a 2-hour drive southwest of downtown Indianapolis along I-69.
