Woman arrested on theft warrant after vehicle goes into retention pond

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A woman was arrested Sunday morning on a theft warrant out of Hancock County, after her car went into a retention pond.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, police were sent to a retention pond near 25th and Post Road. When they arrived, they found a female on the roof of the vehicle.

IFD said a diver entered the water around 12:28 p.m. and hooked the vehicle to tow.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called on-scene and investigated the incident. After investigation, they found 33-year-old Jessica Foster was wanted on a theft warrant in Hamilton County. She was arrested on scene.

Police do not know why the woman drove the vehicle into the retention pond.

There are no injuries reported.
