Teen killed in lawnmower accident

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE)  Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating the death of a 17-year-old near the town of Burket.

Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel were called to the 8200 block of West County Road 600 South around 5:30 Friday night after a machinery accident. Officers arrived and located the victim, Kurt M. Miller, 17, underneath a lawnmower. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Fort Wayne to determine the exact cause of death. An initial investigation determined that Miller’s clothing had been pulled into the mower pulleys while he was working on the machinery.
