Police looking for vehicle following fatal hit-and-run

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a vehicle of interest in a recent fatal hit-and-run on Monday.

The crash happened near 59th Street and Georgetown Road. When police arrived they found 37-year-old Michael Foree dead at the scene. His motorcycle was laying nearby.

Investigators believe Foree was heading south on Georgetown Road and was approaching 59th Street. IMPD said a vehicle, described as a Ford Freestyle, was heading north on Georgetown Road and was turning west onto 59th Street.

According to IMPD, it is unclear if the vehicle collided with the motorcycle, or if the motorcyclist jumped off the bike to avoid the turning vehicle.

The 2005-2007 Ford Freestyle was light green with beige trim and had aN In-God-We-Trust plate. It’s not clear what the plate numbers or letters were.

Police say the vehicle could have damage to the passenger’s side.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
