Employee injured in Lebanon gas station fire

LEBANON, Ind. (WISH) – One person was injured in a fire at a gas station in Lebanon overnight, according to the Lebanon Fire Department.

Just before 2 a.m., crews were called to a BP station in the 1900 block of Indianapolis Avenue for a report of a commercial building fire.

Once on the scene, crews located a patient, who was later identified as an employee of the gas station.

A specific condition of the employee was not provided. However, the department said the employee was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital for burns.

Crews began battling the fire on the exterior of the structure with propane tanks burning in the parking lot.

The Lebanon Fire Department was able to get the fire under control around 2:15 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time as it remains under investigation.
