Man dead after shooting on near west side

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Isaiah Luckett.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man is dead after a shooting on the city’s near west side Saturday, police said.

Around 6:45 p.m., officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 20 block of Neal Avenue on reports of a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
