Local flood spots cause headaches for drivers
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — WISH-TV checked out several reports of flooding across Indianapolis.
Flood waters blocked a roadway at South Shortridge Road near English Avenue.
That’s on the city’s east side.
The water was so deep it nearly covered a fire hydrant.
We know at least one truck had to be pulled out after getting stuck.
One neighbor thought it might have been up to five feet deep.
He said he has lived in that area for 50 years and he couldn’t believe the amount of water that accumulated.
“I’ve never really seen it flooding to the point you couldn’t drive down it, so it’s a lot of water,” neighbor Ty Hackett said.
He also said that even though the road was blocked there are other ways to get around it in the neighborhood and there weren’t any homes blocked by that water.
