INDOT truck, semi crash on I-69
DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Delaware County Emergency Management reported that a semi truck and INDOT truck were involved in an accident just after 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
According to Delaware County officials, the INDOT truck was rear-ended by a semi, while the worker was repairing holes in the right lane of southbound I-69. That’s just south of exit 241.
The driver of the semi, 55-year-old Thomas Rives, drove into the back of the INDOT truck causing the INDOT truck to overturn on its driver’s side. The semi went off the road into the right side ditch.
The INDOT worker, Joshua Ray Stone, 29, was taken to IU Health’s Ball Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. Rives was not injured in the crash.
Traffic in the southbound lanes was backed up for several hours while crews worked to remove the two trucks.
