Reports: Authorities say no active threat at Alexandria high school

UPDATE: The reports of an active shooter at Alexandria-Monroe Junior-Senior High School have been confirmed as false, according to the Madison County Sheriff. Parents should still pick up students at Alexandria Baptist Church.

ALEXANDRIA, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police responded to Alexandria-Monroe Junior-Senior High School in reference to and active threat.

The school was on lockdown. Officers were in the building.

Alexandria is north of Anderson in Madison County.

Parents were asked to pick up their children at the Alexandria Baptist Church at 2107 S. Park Ave.

Superintendent Melissa Brisco tweeted about 1 p.m., “Thank you to the Alexandria Police Department and all first responders for their help! There was no threat found, all students are safe and we’re working to reunify all parents and students. #AlexTigers”
