Colts hire former Chargers assistant as new secondary coach
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano has hired Greg Williams as the defensive backs coach.
Williams spent the past seven seasons in San Diego. He was the assistant secondary coach the past three seasons and assistant linebackers coach from 2009-12.
After playing for Mack Brown at North Carolina from 1994-97, Williams pursued a professional career in NFL Europe, the XFL and the Arena Football League. He attended training camp with the Chicago Bears and New York Giants.
Williams switched to coaching in 2003 when he was an intern at Arizona State. He spent the next seasons on the staff at College of DuPage then was hired by Arkansas Tech where he coached defensive backs and served as the recruiting coordinator.
