1 shot in convenience store on southwest side, in serious condition
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person is in serious condition after being shot at a convenience store early Wednesday morning on the city’s southwest side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Just after 2:30 a.m., officers were called to the 2800 block of South Holt Road for a report of a person shot.
IMPD says three people entered the store and began opening, eating and drinking items before paying for them.
The manager tried to get the three suspects to pay for those items and at some point, another person entered and attempted to help the store employee. One of the three suspects then pulled out a gun and shot the man who intervened on behalf of the manager.
The suspects initially fled the scene but IMPD says all three are now in custody.
The gunshot victim was transported to the hospital in serious condition. The manager of the convenience store was not injured in the shooting.
