Woman arrested in Friday stabbing that left man dead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police have made an arrest in a fatal Friday afternoon stabbing on the city’s northeast side, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Billie Mitchell, 45, has been taken into custody for her role in the deadly stabbing.
Around 4 p.m. Friday, officers were called to the 3900 block of North Shadeland Avenue for a report of a person stabbed. Once on the scene, a man who had been stabbed was located and transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
The man, who has yet to be identified, later died at the hospital.
An IMPD investigation into the fatal stabbing led officers to Mitchell, who was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Mitchell faces preliminary charges of murder and invasion of privacy, police said.
