ARGOS, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Rochester-based Topp Industries Inc. is planning to invest $520,000 to boost its manufacturing facility in Marshall County. The company says it has received a personal property tax abatement from the Argos Town Council for the project, which is expected to create up to eight full-time jobs.

Topp, which specializes in sump, sewage, and wastewater products, says the investment in rotational molding equipment will also help retain 13 full-time employees.

“As the industry changes and with continued improvements to our product, processes, and technology, Topp Industries is investing in building for the future at our Argos manufacturing facility” said Kevin Birchmeier, Topp Industries president.

The expansion is supported by a seven-year phase in, personal property tax abatement, meaning the additional value of the equipment is gradually added to the assessed value property to be taxed, and the town will receive additional taxes each year.

Marshall County Economic Development Corp. President Jerry Chavez says the company’s investment will result in more than $100,000 being added to the local payroll.
