Johnson County officials identify victim in homicide
JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — Authorities in Johnson County have identified the victim in what is being called a homicide.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office have identified the victim as 50-year-old Andrew Perry.
Emergency crews were called to the 2900 block of Cadogan Drive in Greenwood by a mother who said she found her son collapsed on the floor.
Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox.
There were rumors the man may have been shot. Autopsy results have now determined the cause of death to be “blunt force trauma to the head.”
“It is concerning, we don’t have any trouble in this neighborhood, we don’t have loud people, we don’t have loud dogs, we don’t have loud cars,” said Neighbor Ralph Rollea.
Cox said Perry lives with his teenage son, the son according to deputies, did not stay at the home overnight.
Investigators are talking to the man’s mother, and his son to try to determine what happened. Detectives and forensic experts walked in and out of the home as they tried to process the scene.
Neighbors are waiting for an explanation on what happened.
The investigation into the case continues.
