Juvenile male shot by another juvenile male near Riley Park in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — A juvenile male was taken to the hospital after being shot multiple times by another juvenile male near Riley Park in Greenfield Sunday, police say.

At 4:30 p.m. Sunday, an officer with the Greenfield Police Department was flagged down in the 700 block of East Main Street. The officer located a juvenile male who had been shot. Police say the shooting occurred in the 1000 block of East 1st Street. That is a residential area near Riley Park. The injured juvenile male was transported to Hancock Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

The injured juvenile male was eventually transported to an Indianapolis-area hospital.

The suspect juvenile male was taken into custody.

Investigators believe this incident might be linked to a larger investigation involving a group of individuals, mainly juveniles, related to the buying and selling of guns and drugs. Since the investigation started, Greenfield police has taken 6 illegal guns off the streets, along with drugs. Police have made around 10 arrests of juveniles and adults.

Greenfield police are still investigating the incident.
