Man dies after single-vehicle crash in Lafayette
LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) – A man is dead after a fatal crash early Saturday morning in Tippecanoe County.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office and Sheffield Township Fire Department got the call around 5:50 a.m. Saturday to respond to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Wyandotte and Newcastle roads.
Joseph Henderson, 29, was the only person in the car. Police found out he turned right on to Newcastle Road when he lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over. He was partially ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries.
He was taken to Franciscan Health and eventually airlifted to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, where he died while being treated.
Henderson was not wearing a seat belt, which police say most likely would have saved his life. However, police believe drugs and alcohol were not involved.
