New developer puts Speedway hotel project back on track

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — A construction project at the corner of 16th and Main streets in Speedway is one step closer to being complete after months of delays.

Speedway officials say the Wilshaw Hotel project is back on track. The project has been taken over by Indianapolis-based MHG Hotels.

This is the same company who opened the Courtyard by Marriot in the Speedway Marketplace and is building another hotel at the corner of Crawfordsville and high school roads. The planned hotel for downtown speedway will be a Hilton Tapestry Hotel.

Officials say construction on the project will resume early next year.
