Netflix cutting lowest-priced ad-free plan

If you’re spending all summer Netflixing “Bridgerton”, you’re not alone. Netflix just added 8 million subscribers in the second quarter.

But the company plans to cut its lowest-priced ad-free subscription plan which is $11.99 per month.

New subscribers as of July 2023 will no longer be able to get the so-called, basic plan, but for those grandfathered in, it’ll no longer be available.

The good news is, that there’s a cheaper plan from Netflix that’s $6.99 per month, the bad news is, that it comes with ads.

Boeing’s largest plane maker union authorizes strike

Boeing is facing yet another challenge after the plane maker’s largest employee union voted to authorize a strike.

Officials of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 751, which represents about 32,000 Boeing workers, say they want a pay raise, reinstatement of the traditional pension program, and for future planes to be made in Washington state.

New record for Amazon Prime Day shopping

Amazon Prime Day has come and gone, and the numbers are in. Adobe Analytics says Americans spent $14.2 billion during the 2-day event.

That’s a new record, with online spending up 11% from last year. The big sellers were tablets, tv’s, and Bluetooth speakers.

USA Today readers vote on America’s best fast-food restaurant

Fast food is a guilty pleasure we all enjoy here and there. USA Today readers voted on the top 10 in the nation and Chick-fil-A no longer takes the crown as America’s best fast-food restaurant.

The chicken chain is now No. 3 on the list, behind KFC which came in second.

The new number 1 reader’s choice winner is Del Taco. The Mexican chain serves not only tacos, burritos, and nachos, but also burgers and fries.

There are only 598 locations in the U.S. and the only one in North Carolina, is about to open up in Durham, this September.
