Former US gymnastics doctor accused of sexual abuse

DETROIT, Mich. (WISH) – Two gymnasts are accusing a former doctor for the U.S. gymnastics team of sexual abuse.

One of the accusers was a member of the 2000 U.S. Women’s Olympic Team.

In a civil lawsuit filed last week in California, the former Olympian said Doctor Larry Nassar sexually abused her during “physical therapy” sessions.

The second gymnast, Rachel Denhollander said Nassar abused her in 2000 when she was a 15-year-old undergoing treatment at Michigan State University, where he was a faculty member.

Nassar’s lawyer said the doctor denies the allegations.CNN contributed to this report.
