IMPD: 2 people hit, killed by vehicles overnight
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people died after being hit by vehicles overnight, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
Around 11 p.m. Thursday, IMPD officers were called to a crash on Rockville Road east of Country Club Road on Indy’s far west side.
Investigators think a vehicle hit the victim, 37-year-old Darin Dawson, as he crossed the street. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and gave First Aid until medics arrived, but Dawson did not survive.
About an hour later, IMPD officers responded to a hit-and-run on Pleasant Run Parkway near Villa Avenue in Fountain Square.
Police say the victim, identified as 32-year-old Tommy Brock Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brock’s death is being investigated as a homicide and police are searching for the driver and vehicle involved.
