Indianapolis Public Library to celebrate National Free Comic Book Day
Devery North, School Age, and Families Program Specialist at the Indianapolis Public Library, joined us Thursday morning to share details about the exciting National Free Comic Book Day event on May 6, 2023.
Celebrating the comic book medium and industry alike, almost 50 comics will be released by publishers such as Marvel, Image Comics, Boom! Studios, Viz, and Kodansha, including titles from popular franchises like Star Wars, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Animal Crossing.
Comics and graphic novels can motivate kids to read and improve their literacy skills.
With the Library’s local partner Downtown Comics donating comic books, guests can stop by any Indianapolis Public Library location to pick up a free comic book, while supplies last.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic event, and be sure to ask North about her favorite titles and why kids should read comic books.
