The Film Yap reviews Onward, Portrait of a Lady on Fire and more

Some GOOD movie choices come to theaters this weekend, as The Film Yap’s Christopher Lloyd runs down the list of “what’s playing.”

Onward — This new Disney/Pixar animated flick is sort of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign in movie form, as brother elves try to rekindle the world’s dead magic to revive their long-lost dad.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire — A ravishing romance and the best foreign film of 2019. A young painter is brought to a reclusive island to create a marriage portrait and falls in love with her subject.
Greed — Steve Coogan stars in this satirical look at the world of the uber-wealthy jet-setting types from writer/director Michael Winterbottom.
The Way Back — Ben Affleck plays a washed-up basketball coach given one last shot at redemption with a team of underdogs at his high school alma mater.
Video: Queen & Slim — A surprisingly effective modern take on the Bonnie and Clyde legend, with a young black pair on their first date labeled as cop killers.. Buy It.
