We Try It: Just Add Nature kid’s fishing kit

In Amber’s latest “We Try It” segment she shows us a new product hitting the market next week that will help get kids outside to learn about science and the natural world.

For people with kids at home, the ‘new normal’ we’re experiencing can add stress to our lives and even our kids.

They’re having to say ‘no’ to playing with their friends and are stuck at home, often looking for something to occupy their time that’s easy, fun and designed with kids in mind.

The CDC suggests that it’s important right now to help manage kids’ stress levels by creating “a schedule for learning activities AND relaxing or fun activities.”

“Just Add Nature,” is a first-of-its-kind educational fishing kit that teaches kids about bait and fishing techniques and can be enjoyed anywhere.

Sold exclusively on Walmart.com, and in select Walmart stores around the country, the kits will retail for under $8. 

While you can use these kits at local lakes and ponds when you’re able, the good news is that you can learn these basic fishing techniques in your own back yard!

“Just Add Nature” features three kits that come with multipurpose pliers, bait rigging instructions, a fish identification poster, a critter bucket and more. With the help of the kit, you can learn how to safely bait a hook, the proper way to tie on a lure and more. And a new webisode series launches on April 11 on the Just Add Nature Facebook page that will hook kids in with fishing tips, tricks and entertaining characters.
