Traditional Italian cuisine with Chef Amy

Chef Amy is back from her culinary group tour to Rome and the Amalfi coast, and she had an amazing adventure exploring the local cuisine and delicacies.

From wine to pasta, salumi to cheese, pizza to gelato, she and her group ate and drank their way through Italy, savoring every bite and sip of the local cuisine.

One of the highlights of their culinary journey was the pasta. Semolina flour is the classic, traditional option for pasta making, and it’s been used for hundreds of years by Italians. If you’re looking for the best pasta taste and texture, this ingredient is unbeatable. Along with the traditional pasta, Chef Amy and her group also enjoyed authentic Amalfi Coast Pasta Carbonara.

But it wasn’t just about the pasta for Chef Amy and her group. They also indulged in some local favorite candies, such as lemon cello, and savory delights like Porcini mushrooms, Pancetta, and Prosciutto/pecorino cheese. They even discovered a new favorite snack, paprika Pringles.

Of course, no culinary adventure in Italy is complete without some gelato and pizza. Chef Amy and her group tried a variety of flavors of gelato.

For those who are interested in learning how to make authentic Italian pasta, Chef Amy is hosting an instructional cooking class at A Cut Above | Catering | Classes | Events at 12955 Old Meridian Street #UNIT 104 in Carmel on April 27th.

The Art of Pasta class will teach attendees how to make homemade pasta from scratch, including the dough, and how to pair it with delicious sauces and toppings.
