“Jump” into a new workout with help from Firefighter Tim. Today on Indy Style, Tim shows us a short routine on a mini trampoline that’s fun and the perfect way to keep you moving!

What is rebounding? Rebounding is a unique form of exercise, for all types of people; any age, size and, shape, or one could just call it plain old fun jumping on a mini trampoline and burning calories. Just 10 minutes of rebounding on a rebounder is equal to 30 minutes of jogging.

According to many experts and researchers rebounding (jumping on a mini trampoline):

•Boosts lymphatic drainage and immune function •Great for skeletal system and increasing bone mass •Can be more than twice as effective as running •Helps improve balance by stimulating the vestibule in the middle ear •Helps improve the effects of other exercise- one study found that those who rebounded for 30 seconds between weight lifting sets saw 25% more improvement after 12 weeks than those who did not.

•Rebounding in a whole body exercise that improves muscle tone throughout the body.

•Some sources claim that the unique motion of rebounding can also help support the thyroid and adrenals.

•Rebounding is fun!

According to Dr Paul E. Devore, from the American Society of Bariatric Physicians (doctors dealing with weight loss), rebounding on a rebounder can burn 11 times more calories than walking, 5 times more than swimming and 3 times more than jogging or aerobics.
