Pet Pals TV: Meet Bubs
Pet Pals TV: Meet Bubs
Bubs is a soon to be 2-year-old Black Labrador. Bubs and his “co-workers” help comfort people during their time of loss at the G.H. Hermann Funeral Home. Bubs is a “Facility” dog… somewhere between a Service Dog and a Therapy Dog. Unlike service dogs they do not have public access. They are only allowed in places that permit their visits. They are a little different than therapy dogs in that they work longer hours and are exposed to many more people. Kevin Knartzer is trainer/owner of the dog training school, Tails Up Paws Down that works with these dogs to get them certified. He purposely select dogs that are very calm, loving and not pushy. Once you meet him, you will agree, Bubs fits that bill.
Just petting a dog lowers your heart rate. They take in people’s emotions, they take the discomfort away from you so to speak.”
