PMCH Sun Safety / Cancer Prevention / Focus on Children
Sun protection is a MUST for all families this summer, especially for the most sensitive of skin…. our kiddos! Dr. Bassem Razzouk, Medical Director, Pediatric Hematology / Oncology, Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, shares his tips for keeping our skin out of harms way in the summer heat!
• Use the right power of SPF: 45 and above.
• Don’t forget to re-apply, particularly if you go into the water. (This is particularly true for children at the pool.)
• Remember to cover your head: wearing a hat is key.
• Wear light colored clothing.
• Stay hydrated: Drinking lots of fluids is essential.
