Time to get your diet back on track
Over the summer, lots of us have gone on vacation, taken days off, and hit up the State Fair. While doing all of these fun summer activities, we have eaten lots of delicious food, but maybe it wasn’t always the healthiest.
Today on Indy Style, St. Vincent Clinical Dietitian at Anna Busenburg shares a few tips to get us focused and back on track!
– Fill 1/2 your plate at each meal with fruit and vegetables. Lots of these food items are still in season and they taste great this time of year. You can pick up this in season produce at your local grocery store or Farmer’s Market.
– Expand on the health benefits from colorful produce and how easy it can be to prepare.
– Besides what you put in your mouth, how active you are has a big impact on your health. Making an intentional effort to exercise more is an important step towards leading a healthy lifestyle. We all need to make a concerted effort to move more. Now this can be accomplished in a variety of ways … you could join a gym near where you live or work, you could purchase some equipment to use in your house or you find a certain type of activity you enjoy and try to make a class (like yoga, spin class).
– Expand on benefits of exercise and being active with your family.
