William Shatner becomes oldest person to launch into space
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — History was made today! Around 10:30 a.m. William Shatner became the oldest person to enter space, at 90 years old! We showed the launch’s live video in today’s Indy Style.
Shatner is best known for playing Captain Kirk in “Star Trek.” Jeff Bezos happens to be a huge Star Trek fan, and invited Shatner to fly with his space travel company Blue Orbit. This was Blue Orbit’s second passenger flight.
The space flight lasted around 11 minutes and launched from West Texas.
